Dr. Rebecca Taurel is a physician from Venezuela with extensive experience in gynecology, ultrasound and reproductive endocrinology. She moved to South Florida with her family in 2017 and is now an advanced registered nurse practitioner. Dr. Taurel has over a decade of experience as a gynecologist and reproductive endocrinologist, mastering transvaginal ultrasound and hysteroscopy, women’s health issues, diagnosis of ovarian and uterine diseases (like polyps and fibroids), polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, and the diagnosis and treatment of infertility.

Education and Experience

Dr. Taurel graduated from medical school at the Universidad Central of Venezuela. She did her residency in Gynecology and Reproductive endocrinology at the Venezuelan Red Cross. In Venezuela, the medical system is hands-on whereby students work in a similar manner to American intern doctors. By the time Dr. Taurel graduated from medical school, she completed deliveries, performed surgeries, and worked in underserved communities, giving her exposure to various medical conditions and their treatments. She then worked for nine years as a reproductive endocrinologist and gynecologist in the Hospital de Clinicas Caracas, one of the most prestigious practices in the country.
After moving to Miami, Dr. Taurel did her bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science from Florida International University, graduating with honors. She then completed her master’s degree, also with honors, as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner at Florida International University. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed in the state of Florida as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).

Philosophy

Since the beginning of her career, Rebecca has been a compassionate doctor who loves to listen to patients and give them the feedback they require. She believes this is the best way for successful treatment; she offers an evidence-based, updated, and compassionate approach to every patient. Rebecca likes to spend her spare time with her husband, two kids, extended family, and friends.
